The Past Legacy Of Sims 3 And Missing Features In Sims 4
Like most I am underwhelmed with playing Sims 4 unlike Sims 3 the one before that. Though I do like the new building tools, the more detail in patterns making better prints out for clothes, wallpapers and floors in Sims 4 Studio and of course the Mod updates more on them later of course. Here are some reasons what I found and why I was disappointed at first when I first had Sims 4 and why I personally liked Sims 3 but I do like Sims 4 for all what I mentioned above and more but what I hope they would add to Sims 4 to add some real spice to the game and why people like me fall in love with the game in the first place and also summing up what made the Sims series so interesting and fun to play.
1. In Sims 3 you could buy the World Adventure pack where you could go to either France, China or Egypt you could earn more time there and explore the town or their landmarks and come across stuff you could take home with you and extra skills you can do whilst there and take books and items to practice that skill once your back home. You can also meet the locals and take quests and with the right level of friendship some of them teach you a traditional songs or one of their traditional recipes it’s exciting.
2. Each Sims 3 expansion pack had a different occult type from ghosts to unicorns to aliens it was more to do in the game and stuff you would hope it would happen and get like get your male housemate or whoever it was get abducted by aliens and get impregnated by the alien who took you away and that male would get pregnant and carries a alien hybrid or have or mastermind a hybrid horse and unicorn or even have a ghost child. With the ever growing of all the packs and add-ons available it took the fun of finding what we had install in that expansion pack like for example World Adventures had a mummy also you had to find all the Canopic Jars there was five of them which all looked different and was a god of Egyptian mythology. I cheated to get my mummy but I did try but I was playing it a lot at the time and nearly got there but then my House got burgled so I cheated again and put down some traps in Debug Mode and got my mummy while I was in the cheating mood.
3. Also like most people would say and from all the people who played Sims 3 it wasn’t open world and really did restrict the fun like driving or walking down the street but you sort of get used to it but it’s meant to be for the experience and as I keep mentioning Sims 3 gave you that experience which is something I feel it’s lacking and needing. Anyway it’s only right to make it open world as A it’s a Simulation Game that Simulates the world and also B because most games are now open world and is one of the things people live for in a game and are always the most popular in the gaming world other than realistic graphics. I mean I played Sims on Facebook and I’ve played over Facebook games also so I always see it as Facebook game loading screen as you travel through the levels and it’s on the old Sims Facebook game as well which does put me off a bit and plus I want to wreak havoc with my neighbors aw stroppy teenagers and their uncontrollable hormones.
4. The last thing I didn’t like was the lack of choices of stuff found in Build Mode stuff in Sims 3 the previous game had lots of from types of metal, to animal skins, to wallpapers and flooring it was a lot to go through but I would quite happily to custom make my dream house over and over again until I was happy with it or customizing clothes as well. To practically customizing everything in the room with different swatches of patterns and stuff I mentioned before it was fun to decorate I could be there for weeks on end doing up my House or Houses and stuff I went in and changed. Though it is still fun with such things like the blueprint option and the new visual of the house you can click on parts of the house to buy items like walls, the floor still a bit tricky to get to the basement option but it’s a much easier more visual based interface.
THE FUTURE OF SIMS PROJECT RENE
Okay I’m not going to lie I was kind of relying on the Sims 5 to listen to the people and bring back Sims 3 but updated with the better graphics etc that does make it fun to play. So I was basically sad to know there was going to be no Sims 5 but they did have this project they keep updating everyone about which is a project called Project Rene from 2018 to just a couple of weeks ago. It’s already been announced by EA Games there will be no Sims 5 so not to so players do not have to “abandon their years of progress, saves, and paid DLC in The Sims 4.” Instead, EA is taking a different approach to the future of the franchise which will be interesting to see what that is and to see if it is really the next best thing to what came before the Sims series. The Sims 4 game will keep receiving ongoing updates, patches, and expansion packs and Project Rene will proceed and what I gather quickly looking at Project Rene it is going to be a multiplayer spin off that is going to be for mobile. Now if it’s just for mobile or if there is going be a desktop version I mean it’s definitely going be on the PlayStation and Xbox if they are going multiplatform but the game is already on both so I can see it happening again. But I still think there is plenty more time to give the base game a wealthy update and make it free world at least now there won’t be a Sims 5 and part of me is hoping this is just one big lie to keep the project tightly wrapped but it does look like they are happy with Sims 4 enough to work on the game instead of making a whole new game as they are adding more expansion and stuff packs to the collection as reported by EA. According to a Google research Project Rene (often referred to as the next-generation Sims game) will be free to download and play without a core purchase or subscription. Electronic Arts (EA) and Maxis confirmed that the base game will not require a mandatory upfront fee, subscription, or energy-based mobile mechanics to jump in. You can download, explore, and play the core game without paying for the base software but EA plans to sell extra content and packs separately. The structure will differ from The Sims 4; for example, some foundational features like basic weather might be added for free to everyone, while specific themed activities will be sold as separate packs. The game is expected to feature a marketplace for both free and paid user-generated content alongside official items. There is still no official release of Project Rene but there is something about coexisting with single player of Sims 4 which does sound interesting and I love a good add on I had all the Sims 3 expansion packs and used them all so I do welcome paid packs or whatever it is unless it’s a table on the Sims Store I don’t need that. Also I do hope whatever it is and also hoping it will be on Desktop I hope there are some Beta Tools we can get our hands dirty with and make our own stuff like with TSR Sims Workshop, Sims 4 Studio and Create A World In Sims 3 yes we need that one as well as of yet there is still no tool to create your own world the way you do it is bulldozing the town and starting from the blank plots of land. Also quite a good one the Create A Pattern Tool another good and useful tool to make your own patterns in Sims 3.
HOW TO SPICE UP YOUR SIMS 4 GAME IDEALS
Now the main things I would say to use in your game are two main ingredients I use in my game to spice things up are Mods and Custom Content otherwise known as CC for abbreviation. There are plenty of Mods which are bypassers and hacks into the game to put in content EA Games didn’t or wouldn’t dare put in. I mean there are lots of types of Mods from hacking into the game to fulfill skills and other cheat based hacks to being able to have your own weed dispensary with all the products with your own Head Shop or Dispensary and things that may aid you to mold your game the way you want it to be which I’d probably would of said a few times below but I do use mods in all my story lines. As that’s the other way to Jazz it up a bit play out a story line you will see my type of story line below but yours can be different to the ones I suggest but there are many story lines that are easy to play out and with the help of Mods which gives you a more hands on approach of your Sims family and the town. Mods are always free and allowed by EA who welcome them but the only downside is with every expansion pack might mean a new Mod update which means downloading the latest version and installing it which is the easy part you just place it in the Mods folder in the Electronic Arts folder in Documents. What I also like about Sims 4 while we are on Mods I like the Mods Notice Board with all the Mods they registered on start up of the game so you know before you get to the start menu if they might work as I had cases where it was registered but didn’t show up in my game so you never know but this could be the way I made them in the first place. Custom content or CC is also good for lively up your game and add some real reality in your game. There are plenty of creative creators who make clothes, objects from stuff from the past that does fit into games easily. All the content by me and other creators is free apart from the paid items made by EA Games themselves but you always find what you want on various of Sims 4 stuff sites which are always free and always should be free.
1. START A CULT
One way to get a party started is making your own cult. So that does might mean going wild and making your own uniform they all have to wear, shaving their heads and eyebrows and appointing the man with the beard to be the messiah or second in command. Now there are a couple of ways of what to worship I remember my Sims 3 days when I made my second cult it was a unicorn cult who worshiped the unicorn something you get with the Sims 3 pet expansion pack and not forgetting my other and first cult I had my alien cult where I hoped the appointed one get beamed up and bring back a messiah a alien half breed but that was a failed mission but still a fun story to play out and have a back story of the appointed one who just wouldn’t be chosen I mean everyone but him and he was heavily on the telescope every night until sunrise but it was the whole fun trying. Someone did get beamed up one of the lesser off followers but I worked him in the story quite well I actually was going to axe the one they didn’t like but I wanted to keep the cult alive as that was the household I worked on the most and was my only household I was playing with. I made custom outfits for my Sims 3 cult members and later Sims 4 when I recreated the unicorn cult again now there were better mods which is another great way to create your own cult with set rules you would expect or even have a mod that caters to having your own cult needs with all what you need to have one. Now my cult was dark so a unicorn may of been slaughtered in my Sims 3 and later Sims 4 games as I was playing the cult as this evil cult who believed in murdering but not just that the unicorns but the Sims too. Anyway unknown by me at the time as I killed the unicorn on my ranch the unicorn came back as a ghost for a while and would appear in the stable where that fatal murder happened. I heavily used Mods for both Sims 3 (Dexter Mod) and Sims 4 (Extreme Violence Mod) something you may need if you do go down the cold and callous cult group.
2. BUILD AND RUN A MENTAL INSTITUTE
Building yourself your own mental institute and running the place is another easy and fun way to spice up your game and add a bit of quirkiness to the game. This does mean once again a uniform they wear and custom designed straight jacket made by creative creators and of course making Sims with some sort of mental illness and going with a white home with industrial doors and stuff but it’s your mental asylum so you can do what you like I was just talking retro styled mental asylums. Obviously it’s a mental asylum so be sure to put some sane people in there with traits like Neat and Foodie traits and also nurturing and stuff like that for the staff members who would look after the mental patience. When I built my own asylum in Sims 3 I used to lock them in the room whenever they freaked out like shouting or being mean to another household member. They were allowed out in the town but at first with supervision and later out by themselves as I actually couldn’t control where and what the patience could go and do as one of them moved out and had a baby with someone in the town which did kind of ruin the game just a little but with a bit of story magic where I decided he was let out after finding love and having a baby until they all started to move out one after the other and the lot became abandoned for some time I even wanted to change it into a derelict building but couldn’t do what I imagined such as boarded up metal shutters or a look to make it seem it was well lived in and in a state of repair. You can get lots of mental health Mods and custom content of lots that are designed for a mental asylum or you could do as I suggested and build it yourself using a lot of white and custom content along the way as things like windows, beds and doors might not be in the Sims 4 Buy/Build Mode but some pieces can be used for this type of setting.
3. BUILD AND RUN A BROTHEL
Adding a brothel and a bit of sex in your game is a perfect way to spice up your Sims 4 game. More designing your perfect brothel to showcase the girls to and make Sims for those parties and stuff it doesn’t have to be a elaborate setups just don’t forget to finish the look with tinted red lampshades and lights by changing the color tint to red for that finished brothel look. Once again if you can’t find anything you like for your girls or the business there is plenty of Custom Content that will get your Sim ladies looking sexy and fit for work and in their workplace in no time and getting it looking more like a working place of sexual desire yes a brothel. Be sure to have lots of beds and a main bar downstairs with some sort of dance area to turn it into a proper brothel and plenty of seating areas. When I designed my brothel in Sims 3 I had a little waiting area which was basically the lounge and with a downstairs bar with beds upstairs and downstairs. I did have trouble with turning it into a working brothel in Sims 3 but I’m pretty sure in Sims 4 there will be no trouble with the aid of Mods that are specifically made for getting brothels into a working place and can own your own brothel and also manage the joint. Be sure to make your working girls flirty and romantic also with some sort of commitment issues to mold the Sims and get it doing all it should be doing and of course with the aid of Mods of course. My Sims 3 brothel ended up a place for the ex ladies of the night to have their home and turned out to be a booty call center for my Sim specifically where I ended up up having a baby with one of them and they were living together when I was playing them as a family as I should point out I only have one or two saves so I don’t over weigh my games and lag time on Sims 3 but anyway that didn’t work out but once again that was a good time for story boarding.
4. CLONE YOURSELF & YOUR HOME
Okay this one is more of a building exercise but it is fun to play in as well which is making a Sims you and building your home as it is now. So now that may mean like me you live in a flat and you have a bedroom, a living room, a kitchen and bathroom or you may live in a house and have a one, two, three bedroom house with a upstairs or downstairs or both bathrooms all the stuff you would found in a house you may have extra rooms or a dinning room or a walk in kitchen with the snazzy marble bar top with wooden stools to match and expensive wooden Oak floor sample it all and use software like Gimp photoshopping software and Sims 4 Studio to customized your house, flat, or den. Okay this may be a bit hands on and look tricky to do I can assure you with the right tools and ways to do it fast and effectively you can become a pro in no time. I have made a YouTube tutorial of me making wallpapers and floors using photoshopping software Gimp and Sims 4 Studio all free and quite basic to do and use clothes and apparel get’s a bit tricky if you are unsure what to stick to which is the outlines of each part of the say sofa, chair or curtains which is the texture or mesh one or the other inside Sims 4 Studio. If you study the imprints it’s easy to see after a couple of trials and errors what is what and what should be covered with the print IE the picture you are covering the texture with for that complete once over. Quick tip but for you the texture often have outlines and the background is mostly transparent which means most times you can drag the magic wand once again I’m using Gimp to highlight the bit you want to highlight it and once you have highlighted the bit by dragging the magic wand over the bit you want to highlight you go and invert it to make the highlighted bit highlight reverted IE backwards then you press Shift and X to remove any unwanted bits and it will look all neat and all well finished once you go back into Sims 4 Studio to make up the final package making it a perfect free download to share or have in your own home as I discussed.
BUILD YOUR DREAM HOUSE OR ROOM
This takes some Vanilla work which means blood sweat and tears and is sort of like the Rag To Riches story but you start in a all in one lot to later afford after a lot of grinding and you becoming rich and successful and able to build your dream mansion from scratch with custom content if you do feel like jazzing up the place with CC you liked and made yourself or as I would always say look online as there is so much to look through and pick from and all top notch stuff from designer stuff to retro and everything inbetween. You can make featured rooms you dream of having like a cinema room, a gaming room, a painting room and so on and fill it up with stuff that is part of that skill family for example painting turns you into a artist or cooking can make you a top chef and so many options especially in the hobby room from keyboards, places to paint and even a DJ set to hopefully make you become one of the best DJ in the Sims world. Which okay isn’t real as exactly doing all those things but you do realize it’s a simulation game and simulates life and all it comes with it I mean the PC friendly stuff to make it Peggy PG I mean or now a 12+ game. I mean you may have a design for your home in real time and may want to try something out before investing. Sims 4 with Sims Studio is a perfect to sample a few things using Gimp and Sims 4 Studio and see what it looks like on the doll house walls which okay it’s something I haven’t personally done but it’s something I could see trying it out on a virtual house before I give my clients my final recommendation I mean they may want you to go bananas and is best tried out first anyway I could see how a painter, Decor designer or anyone of that nature to play the game or try something out before they invest in the say wallpaper, paint or flooring. And for people like me who like to sample textures like the designer stuff, and retro based items, decor and clothing for more realistic game play it has all the perfect requirements to do just that and play the game which is full of surprises which is more Sims 3 rather Sims 4 which is something we all hope they would bring back in Sims 4 now they have axed Sims 5 but I do think Project Rene does and could be interesting.
